MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, CELLULITIS, CONCEPTION & PREGANCY

I am writing this letter to talk to you about the difference Progurt has made in my life.  I am a married, 34 year old mum who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998 when I was 23.  It started with a flu-like illness, which the doctors diagnosed as viral encephalitis.  The doctors sent me for tests including an MRI scan.  They discovered I have little white spots on my brain, which apparently mean I might have MS.  My eyes started to move around so it would take me 3 times as long to read a page in a book.  So, I had MS.  I have to say I didn’t pay much attention to the fact that I had this disease.  I had counseling and support, started injecting Betaferon into my system, but apart from that, there was nothing wrong. 

Then in late 2001 I noticed my left eye was sore when I woke up.  Felt like I had some sleep left in there.  I was going visiting that day and my face felt funny around lunchtime.  I looked in the mirror and was astounded to see the left side of my face wasn’t moving.  I tried smiling into the mirror and only half my face smiled back at me.  Then the next day I started walking into walls.  Not intentionally of course!  I couldn’t walk more than 100 metres before I had to sit down and rest.  So back to the doctor I went and ‘oh dear, you are having a relapse’ was the response.  I was sent to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for steroid treatment.  I was pretty happy with that steroid treatment though.  I was well for 2 years.

The next problem I had wasn’t directly MS related, as I contracted Cellulitis from my needlepoint injections.  Cellulitis is an extremely painful skin infection, which results in burning skin and severe muscular pain.  The average person can get Cellulitis from a mosquito bite but mine came from my injections.  I had Cellulitis once more before I met my husband to be in late 2004. In November 2005 I had an appointment with my neurologist.  We discussed our desire for children and I was advised to start trying as soon as possible as I had had endometriosis and who knew how long it was going to take me to fall pregnant and therefore be off the medication.  I came off the Betaferon in December of that year and contraception 1 month later in January.  It was so great not to have to take medication!  But, in April I had another relapse and could barely walk without support, I couldn’t even bathe myself.  I once again went to the Royal Brisbane for steroid treatment expecting the same result as last time.  It worked for a week. 

I did NOT want live the rest of my life like this, there has to be a better way as I am only 30 years old!  So I started looking on the internet.  That’s when I found Progurt.  It sounded quite promising.  The website indicated it could help with symptoms of MS along with other illnesses.  I bought a Starter Pack of Progurt.  My improvement was gradual, as I had done so much damage to my body by eating wrong foods and preservatives and not exercising, that any improvement for me was great.  Then towards the end of June I did a pregnancy test.  Imagine my reaction when it waspositive!  I was told that Progurt could help with conception.  Needless to say I improved very quickly after that.  My husband and I were so ecstatic that I was well AND pregnant.  Thanks to Progurt and lifestyle change.  I had often heard and been told that pregnancy is great for MS.  It keeps the relapses away somehow. 

On March 28 2007 I gave birth to a beautiful, health baby girl we named Lucy.  For the first month everything went really well.  I was determined to breast-feed and I was doing that well.  Anyone who has breastfed knows that it isn’t easy but is the best possible start you can give your child.  Anyway, Lucy was a month old when things started to happen again.  My eyes were blurry.  Then my walking started to deteriorate.  I kept losing my balance.  When you lose your balance and you are carrying a newborn child it is pretty scary.  I then made some alternations to my diet.  By stopping eating any wheat, which included so many foods that I love like pasta, I again saw improvements.  It is amazing what you can find these days as a substitute for wheat.

My daughter is nearly 2 years old now and we are planning her 2nd birthday party.  She is running around all the time now.  She is rarely sick, has no known allergies, slept incredibly well as a baby and is a constant joy in our lives.  I truly believe most of this is a result of having Progurt in her system her entire existence.  She is also very smart and ahead of her age developmentally.  I attribute this to all the fish I ate when I was pregnant.  I did have a moment last year when I must have unknowingly eaten something I shouldn’t have.  My legs started to get very heavy and tired.  I felt I wasn’t able to do much.  We had plans at the end of the week on the Sunday to go to Dreamworld and I told my husband I would probably need a wheelchair, not being able to walk around all day.  In the week I had till that time I was able to turn my health around thanks to all the knowledge I had from the past 2 years.  By increasing my dosage of Progurt. I was able to walk around Dreamworld all day that day.

My husband and I look back of the three and a half years we have been married and can attribute a lot of our good health and well being toProgurt.  I am still not on any medication.  In hindsight it was probably also the treatment for Cellulitis, which involved taking very strong antibiotics, which caused a lot of my problems.  Only a powerful probiotic such as Progurt could have helped me so quickly.  We can now look forward to increasing our family with no disturbances from my MS.  A positive attitude always helps of course and everyone makes different life choices but if you are thinking of taking Progurt for whatever reason I cannot recommend it more highly.  Stephanie Zimmermann
