What is Shungite? 

Shungite is an ancient material believed to be over two billion years old. While it is not known exactly how this healing crystal is formed, we do know that its unique composition is responsible for its health and wellness benefits. 

Shungite contains a large amount of carbon. In fact, elite shungite, which is the rarest form in the world, contains up to 99% carbon. 

This is important because shungite contains which are 3-D spherical molecules made of 60 carbon hollow atoms called fullerenes. Fullerenes is what is believed to be responsible for the healing and protective qualities of shungite.
